GRID-TIED SOLAR SYSTEMS
COMPONENTS: A Grid-tied system consists of 2 key components only: solar panels and a dedicated grid-tied inverter that is connected to the utility grid.
HOW IT WORKS: A grid-tied home solar system is one that remains connected to the electrical grid. Such a system generates power for the home and it feeds any excess power it generates into the grid.

HOW IT WORKS: A off-grid/standalone system is used when munical power in unavailable or if you wish to completely power independent and off the power grid. This long term investment is popular for farms, smallholdings or persons/establishments in remote locations but can be used anywhere.

HOW IT WORKS: Hybrid Solar systems combine the best from grid-tied and off-grid solar systems. These systems use different combinations of renewable and alternate energy resources. Most popular in domestic and commercial industries where essential loads need to be kept on uninterrupted.
BENEFITS: You can combine various energy sources that can be utilised when the grid network is down (during load-shedding). Less expensive than an off-grid system. Monthly utility bill will be reduced.
